2012 Kart Racing Series

The 2012 kart racing season kicked off on January 21 at NOLA Motorsports Park. If you are interested in participating, pick a class below and get registered!

Arrive & Race - Rental Kart Race Series

League night races are held every other Wednesday night starting at 6:45pm. The cost is $65 per night. The races will be held in our 45mph karts and all safety gear will be provided at the track.

Starting with a practice session, you will get a chance to get comfortable with you randomly chosen kart. From practice, jump straight into heat races which will determine the starting order for the main event. For the main, get ready to fight to the finish for championship points, determined from finishing position. This is real racing and clean driving is required. Series points will be accumulated over the six races and winners will receive prizes and trophies at the end of the six race series.

• $65/person/race
• Random kart selection for practice, heats and main
• Registration opens at 6:30p, Race/Practice laps begin promptly at 7p
• Prizes each week, points accumulated for a class champion at the end of six race series

Classes

• Light: "Gator Bait" 0 - 169lb
• Medium: "Da Krewe" 170 - 190lb
• Heavy: "Couchon" 191 - 215lb
• SUMO: "Couchon de Lait" 216lb+

Team Arrive & Race - Rental Kart Endurance Race Series

Put your teamwork to the test -- teams of four or more compete in a 75 minute endurance race for fame, fortune and prizes. Practice begins promptly at 7p allowing you to perfect driver changes and your rotation strategy. After practice the fun begins -- use teamwork, planning and excellent driving to come out ahead.

• $150/team/race
• Random kart selection each week
• Registration opens at 6:30p, Race/Practice laps begin promptly at 7p
• 4+ people per team (team lineup can change race to race)
• Clean racing is enforced

Rules

• 75 minute race
• Every team member must drive
• No driver can drive back to back (double stint)
• No driver changes under penalty situations
• Maximum 15 minutes per driver per stint (not counting pit time)
• Driver lineup for the team can change race to race
• Each team must choose a fun/creative team name for the season (keep it clean, no boring names!)

Our team league begins on February 29th and runs on alternating Wednesdays for six races, ending on May 9. The league will be comprised of fifteen teams.

For those interested in kart competition, NOLA Motorsports Park will host both a sprint and oval kart race series.

We have broken down the costs involved with each class. Please note, used equipment is typically 30-60% less expensive than buying new. We have also listed typical race weekend costs includes all maintenance/rebuilds amortized out across each race. Not included in the race weekend costs are race/practice/pit fees, licensing and safety gear.
