I have removed the Moore Park thread, our policy is we do not allow product, event or business advertising on our forums with NOLA management approval.
We look forward to working with Moore Park to build karting in Louisiana and surrounding states.

So we cannot ask our friends to come ride with us at another facility when NOLA is not having an event.
Guess you better remove the lone star and daytona thread to be fair and also remove some signatures that advertize also.

Mitch,

We will respect that. Below is the link to the Moore Park Raceway forum. Those interested in laying laps down or that are just curious are welcome to join in on the discussion there. Thanks for the patience.

Anthony

Blain, all we are asking is a business, promoter or product give us a heads up. There is a difference between a conversation and a advertisement. I am not trying to be a hard a$$ just consistent, I would hope you can respect that.
We spent time with Carl making suggestion on ways to improve the facility and safety and are looking forward to working with the new team at Moore Park to build our sport.

Mitch, I do respect that and will respect any of your rules no matter what, I may not like it but after all it is your forum and I am a guest. I just did not think Ricky's post broke the rules and that is all and agree concentancy is the key. My first thought after reading your post was Lone Star and daytona threads and that is why I was not sure why it happened. I also have heard Carl and Ricky promote NOLA and say how we all need to go and support another LA track and it just rubbed me the wrong way because Carl and Ricky have done so much promoting for both Facilities.

This is probably the most discouraging thread I have seen here at NOLA. And truly creates a horrible outcome for the future. Mitch, I somewhat understand your position, but in most cases, I honestly don’t. I am certainly not here to argue, or overstep my bounds, nor lose the privilege to post here at NOLA, but I mean really? Is this really the approach?

Back in history, my father was the President of our karting club up near Chicago and disappointingly, that track no longer exists due to “trivial” political policies and opinions set forth by others. What was the saddest part was, is that it was “karters”, the ones dedicated to the sport, the ones supporting the sport and the ones keeping the sport alive that suffered with the loss of a track!

We, karters are a community, a group of select participants both racers and watchers. For what reason, must this “community” separate their interest of the sport? What happened to promoting the sport in general as a whole? How is this separation going to contribute any productive outcome toward a solid, well-rounded group of karters?

I don’t feel, as I’m sure most of the karting community feels, that Ricky abused policy in any way, nor did he demonstrate any lack of respect to NOLA in any form what so ever. He merely demonstrated the same as what we all feel – a desire to run his kart, a desire to race a track, a desire to keep the tires warm over the weekend.

Obviously, most karters first choice in local racing is going to be NOLA – no doubt about that, no secret to it. NOLA is a fantastic facility with a great bunch of folks - operators, owners and participants. But, what you’re telling me is that if NOLA is not on the schedule, we can’t come together as a group of karters here on this “Karting forum” and discuss other options which may be available? I ask again, how is this a valuable approach to the promotion of the sport? Seems your steering people away from NOLA in this very action – a “go somewhere else to discuss an event” may seem trivial now, but any separation introduced into the karting community helps absolutely nothing.

I seem to recall posts on Razors and EKarting along with a few other forums dedicated to the promotion of NOLA p trying to get folks up and about and into the track – such posts did nothing but benefit NOLA. And furthermore, not one individual griped about it. From Moore Park raceway, we have had numerous individuals step up into karts – which now participate at NOLA. A “group” effort will provide way better results than individual stipulations and boundaries!

I hate to see the “well, he races there or he races here, they race over there” kind of BS. What is the issue with a group that can say “We race here and we race there”?

Just my 2cents…of course with all due respect.

All,

I believe that NOLA is in support of Moore Park Raceway (and it is even stated in Mitch's response) and as a board member of the Moore Park Raceway here in Lafayette, the feeling is very mutual - We ALL want to promote the karting fun for everyone!

What I think you guys are missing is that Mitch is informing us that no one from Moore Park Raceway asked permission from NOLA to advertise this event before posting it on this forum, which is strictly against the forum rules. Since NOLA has to be fair to all guests on this site, they have removed the thread and informed of the mishap - What's been done is fair.

I would urge ANYONE to send me a PM or email before posting ANY event about Moore Park Raceway in the future so we can avoid these issues! (Plus, I'd surely like to have input on the scheduling of events at Moore Park Raceway before they are publicly announced!).

Thank You,
Patrick Harris

Mike,

We are striping the paddock and adding some curbing this week and early next week and trying to get moved into our new Kart building. We are looking at have the track available for T&T on the 12th if we have the additional construction work done.
We will post up-dates here and our website.
