Ok, I see the new site and the listing for memberships, but I don't see any memberships listed in specific to karting? Although the "karing membership" is listed in the available list, it is not included within the pricing chart? Will the karting memberships fall under the "Driver" memberships - or similar program - just looking for the details? What will be the process in obtaining a karting membership, particularly for the smaller sprint track usages?
I have also reviewed the kart classing line-up. Looks like a pretty good line-up which most people could fall into somewhere. I am curious as to what may be the position on TAG class karts. I am assuming they would not be turned away should they arrive at the track, but what class would they fall into for racing? They would certaily outpower the 2 strokes, but aren't going to be competitive with the shifters either? Will there be distinctions made between stock moto shifters and/or Mod's and TM's? I know organization of these classes is NOT easy, just wondering if ideas have been set in motion for such instances?
Will SKUSA memberships be required for participation in karting events?
Great site...looking forward to the track opening! You guys are doing great - keep it up, we're all cheering for ya!

Membership will be beneficial for those that will be racing in the NOLA Championship. For those coming out for recreational Karting (ours or yours) you won't need a membership. TAG Karts classes are currently not planned, with that said TAG karts will be welcome and race with our Rotax Classes and our Open Class. Stay tuned more kart and kart racing info will be posted in the next few weeks.
Please feel free to ask any questions you might have here or e-mail Garett Potter garett@nolamotor.com or Mitch Wright mitch@nolamotor.com

Hey Mitch - Would there be memberships offered to individuals which would allow "open track" sessions, or use of the kart track when not in use for official events? Say, a member would like to run some practice laps in the middle of the week or something? There are many "kart specific" tracks that offer such memberships, but none of which are comparable to what NOLA park will be? Thanks...

Here's the scoop!!!
There are no membership requirements to use the Kart Track, if you and your friends would like to come out and race some rentals no problem show up during operating hours pay for your time and go (starting at $30.00). If you show up with your own kart for Test & Tune same thing pay for a day of T&T ($50.00) and you’re on your way.
One thing completely unique to the Nola Kart Track is the design of the facility; we understand the need of renters/corporate and racers wanting use of the track anytime all the time so we have designed it for this, renters will always have a .50 rental track available to them racers will have .80 race tracks available at all times. The only time this may not be the case if we rent the park for a major event or run a national kart race.
Races:
There is an annual race license fee of $120.00 plus race fees ($65.00) for race weekends, we will also offer a sessions race pass for $1,100.00 this includes: Race License, 10 race days, 10 practice days, dedicated pit spot this is over $300.00 in savings.
Classes:
Our goal at NMSP is to give the best value to our customers best bang for the buck, how do we do this give the racers what they want TRACK TIME the only way to accomplish this is limit classes the more groups you ad the less time you get period, I think we have come up with a very good lineup on classes nothing is perfect there is no way to have every class. I hope and am needing the support of all of you to try and keep these classes to a manageable number in the end it’s best for you guys, less classes bigger numbers better racing MORE LAPS!!!!
With all that said we will never turn a racer or test & tuner away from NMSP, we will find a place to put you with like speed karts as long as the kart meets safety requirements you’re in. And has a I LOVE NMSP sticker on it (kidding) maybe!! The only exception is that we may not score that racer, we may not have enough racers in a class to justify making hardware for podiums.
I encourage anyone to contact me that would like my help in getting an engine package that we run, I will do my best to help sell what you have and get you what you need.
Memberships:
Clients that are main track annual members will have full kart track access included, this will not include race fees.
Please send any other questions
Thanks

Wow, that sounds like a great plan. You should see the "happy dance" I am doing right now. I will be pointing my friends to this thread and I am sure we will be standing tall at the gate when things get rolling.
Oh and I will need 3 of those stickers.

To add to Garett's post, we will have the NOLA Motorsports Park Speedway (oval) program announced in the next few weeks.

Will 250cc Superkarts fit into the test and tune scenario?

If you want to run your Super kart on the kart track, then yes what Garett has posted applies. If you can get a group of Super Karts that would like to run the Big tracks I will consider adding a group during bike or car days.

Thanks Mitch, ultimately that is the plan, to run the full course and sharing race dates and track dates with other orgs. In the meantime it would be just great to get some testing on the kart track. The USSK is now trying to put the 2011 venue together and would like very much to have a meeting with you or Garrett concerning any possible race dates in late 2011.

Garett,
Under membership overview there is no annual membership cost for karting. You have driving club and motorcycle membership info but the karting info seems to be missing. Would you look at this and see if it needs to be added. I'm not sure if you ran out of room or what.
Thanks

I saw there is no kart track access with the "driving club" membership. The box is not checked. Is this correct because it also says we get 5 annual kart rental passes?
Thanks
Garett@NMS

Crell,
That is correct Driving Club dose not have kart track access, what this means? Apex, Lifetime and Annual do not pay to use the kart track on regular practice days or the annual license fee; they do pay for all race fees. Driving Club has access but for a fee anytime they would like to use the kart track $50.00 for practice $65.00 per race pay as you go. All memberships include some Geaux Kart passes these are for our fleet of rental karts that can be used anytime with friends and family.
