Read in the paper this morning that the Austin F1 organizers have agreed to pay Ecclestone the sanctioning fee to secure their site on the F1 calendar for 2012. So there might still be a chance for F1 in Texas after all, although in keeping with the circus that is F1, this will probably change half a dozen more times...

I have a friend who is over the electrical construction there and they have been told there will be an announcement the 6th or 7th on whether they will be returning to work or not. Will be highly disappointed if this falls through as this is only like an hour from the house. Would love to see some big time racing in Texas and the south.

Its funny because the track made the announcement also that they had got the date yet havent told any of the contractors to return to work!!
