Think you know a lot about cars? Want to prove it? Put your skills to the test and win a free trackday pass from NOLA Motorsports. The pass is good for your choice of a car trackday, bike trackday or two hours of karting rentals.
This challenge is part of our asphalt polymer testing. We are testing 800ft of asphalt on our entry road. We will be applying as much tire force as possible for this testing. A track surface encounters loads quite different from those experienced on a highway. Highways are concerned with compressive loading, a track surface has very high shearing forces from turning and braking.
We have assembled a field of high performance cars with excellent braking.
- Ferrari 599
- Ferrari 430 (No visible or audible modifications)
- Corvette ZR1
- Nissan GTR (No visible or audible modifications)
- SL65 AMG (No visible modifications)
- S65 AMG (Slightly audible modifications, no visible modifications)
- C63 AMG (No visible or audible modifications)
- Cayanne Turbo S (No visible or audible modifications)
- Chrysler SRT8 300c (Supercharged)
- 2001 Cobra (Supercharged)
- 1098R Ducati
- 250cc Superkart
- Shifter Kart
The challenge is this: Accurately guess top speed in MPH for each vehicle. The closest submission for each vehicle will win a pass.
Telemetry will be recorded with Video Vbox over an average of five successful runs. A successful run is when car stops on the pavement before the end of the 800ft stretch of asphalt. The top three runs will be averaged.
The tie breaker for each vehicle will be peak G force encountered.
Contest submissions may be emailed to contest@nolamotor.com. Include car, peak MPH and peak gforce. One entry per person per car.
