NMS wants to notify any interested members that there are still positions open to participate in the Utah Fast Pass program August 2nd through 5th, 2010. Check: http://www.utahfastpass.org/ (http://click.icptrack.com/icp/relay.php?r=-1&msgid=0&act=11111&c=624784&destination=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.utahfastpass.org%2F) for more information.
In summary, this is a charity event that benefits the Utah State Police "widows and orphans fund."
Approximately 40 cars and drivers can participate in the event.
The first day consists of an entire day on the track at Miller Motorsports Park.
Any car is given a 5 day license plate to drive on the highways with a high-speed state police escort.
Participants stay at 5 star resorts and all luggage is carried by the event hosts so that participants can drive any car for the road trips.
Participants come from all over the United States and typically ship a track car over to drive on the track day and another car to drive on the road trip. Some do indeed drive a full blown race car all three days.
If any NMS members elect to participate, NMS will assist in the receipt of any cars shipped, will arrange for the storage of those cars and will attend to the return shipping. NMS members will be able to ride in an AMG SLS and a Ferrari 599 driven by professional driver, Desire Wilson at MMP on track day.
Inquire with any questions. Fast Pass slots were still available as of 3/31/2010, check the site for availability.(http://www.utahfastpass.org/ (http://click.icptrack.com/icp/relay.php?r=-1&msgid=0&act=11111&c=624784&destination=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.utahfastpass.org%2F) - info@utahfastpass.org)
